Introduction to TSSEA

The Towing and Storage Safety and Enforcement Act, 2021, establishes a regulatory scheme for tow truck drivers, tow operators and vehicle storage operators in Ontario. The Director of Towing and Vehicle Storage Standards is the authority under the TSSEA with the responsibility of overseeing the Act.

Who Can Appeal?

A party who applies for certification, or who is currently certified under TSSEA, can appeal the following decisions by the Director of Towing and Vehicle Storage Standards to the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT):

How to Appeal

A party who receives a decision from the Director of Towing and Vehicle Storage Standards has 15 days from the date the decision of the Director takes effect.

If the Appeal is filed after the 15 days, a Notice of Motion requesting an extension of time to file the appeal must be included.

You must complete and submit the Notice of Appeal – Registration, Certificate, Licence, Claim Denial, Order form to LAT. Appeals can be filed with the LAT via e-mail to LATregistrar@ontario.ca, or via mail to: 15 Grosvenor Street, Ground Floor, Toronto, ON M7A 2G6 .
