Information Sheet – Zoom’s end of support for its Workplace and Web Browser Applications on Windows 32-bit Operating System (OS)

Introduction

As a result of Zoom ending its support for 32-bit systems, starting December 15, 2025, Zoom will only work on computers with a Windows 64-bit operating system (OS). To join a Zoom meeting, you must use the 64-bit Zoom Workplace application or a compatible 64-bit web browser. This does not affect Apple MacOS computers.

This change made by Zoom affects all their users and not just Tribunals Ontario users attending video proceedings. Typically, these changes affect older computers running operating systems that are no longer supported by Microsoft and may not be secure.

This information sheet will help you check your Windows and browser versions. More information is available on the Zoom website about Zoom Workplace App end of support for Windows 32-bit operating systems and changes to Zoom Web App browser support.

You can check your Windows version by following these steps:

1. Select Start and then select Settings → System → About .

   Or, click on the "Open Windows About Settings" button to open your Windows settings. If prompted, select "Open" or "Open Settings".

2. In the System → About window that opens, the version of Windows that you have can be found under Device specifications next to System type.
3. If your system type is a 64-bit OS, there is no need to take action.
4. If your system type is a 32-bit OS, you will have to upgrade your OS.

You can check your browser version by:

1. Click on the "Check web browser version" button:

2. If your web browser version is 64-bit, there is no need to take action.
3. If your web browser version is 32-bit, you will have to upgrade your web browser.

• Participating in or attending your Zoom meeting on your smartphone or tablets running on Apple iOS or Android will not be impacted. Users can also join their Zoom meeting by calling in, using a landline phone or making a voice call from their cellphone. • Tribunals Ontario users can request accommodation by submitting an Accommodation Request Form if they need additional technology or other support to attend their hearing. An accommodation, or alternative arrangement, may be provided to support a need related to the Ontario Human Rights Code, or a need or concern related to procedural fairness. Users who may need support should make their request as soon as possible to allow the tribunal to consider the request and make appropriate arrangements before the hearing.
