TO: Operational Update
Tribunals Ontario Launches a Modernized Website

Today, Tribunals Ontario launched a new modernized website to provide a more intuitive, user-friendly online experience for all our users.

The new Tribunals Ontario website prioritizes user needs by making it easier to find key information, within two or three clicks upon landing on the website.

To ensure a better online user experience, Tribunals Ontario conducted user research sessions with some of the many users who regularly interact with our tribunals. Feedback and insights received were implemented to improve the design and layout from a user perspective.

The new website is based on a modern IT platform and is fully accessible and responsive from a variety of devices, including desktops, tablets, and smartphones, and compatible with the most commonly used browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox.

Key features of the new modernized website are:

  • Modern look and feel of the tribunal home page features information grouped by intuitive and easy-to-understand headings such as – Before you File, Application and hearing process, Forms and filing, Laws, rules and decisions, and how to Contact the tribunal.
  • “Call to action” buttons prompt users to visit web pages where they can quickly find information and forms to start an appeal or an application, or access our supports and services, such as requesting an accommodation, getting legal help, French language services and more.
  • Redesigned operational updates and news releases section now included in the “What’s New” section where users can filter through information.
  • Simplified content that has been rewritten in easy-to-understand plain language as much as possible.
  • Redesigned forms page that is laid out in a cleaner tabular form with instructions on how to fill out forms.
  • Important notices banners are cleaner and colour-coded based on the urgency of the notice.
  • An additional resources section on most pages provides links to relevant related information that users may be looking for.

For tips on how to navigate the new website, see our Quick User Guide.

If you have feedback or suggestions, we invite you to complete this short survey. Feedback will be used to explore opportunities for possible improvements to the website in the future.
