Legislation and regulation
Although provincially established, the Ontario Parole Board (OPB) has roles and responsibilities under both federal and provincial legislation applicable to corrections, including:

- Youth Criminal Justice Act, S.C. 2002, c.1

Practice guidelines
The OPB has established practice guidelines that govern its proceedings. These guidelines outline the OPB’s expectations of participants in its processes, and in turn, what participants in an OPB proceeding can expect from the OPB.
