Ontario Parole Board (OPB) Key Performance Indicators


Makes parole decisions for applicants serving a sentence of less than two years in a provincial correctional institution. The OPB also decides applications for temporary absences from a correctional institution for greater than 72 hours.

Notes:

  • The OPB does not have a standard case lifecycle, as all cases are active until the applicants are discharged from an institution and the decision issued is determined by the Parole Eligibility Date (PED), not a pre-set timeframe. Due to the OPB not having a case lifecycle, they will not be reporting on the percentage of cases within the case lifecycle KPI.
  • The OPB does not conduct alternative dispute resolution. As such, they will not be reporting on the KPI for the percentage of cases resolved through alternative dispute resolution.
