Filing
What to file
Your complete Notice of Appeal or Application should include these documents:
- Your completed Notice of Appeal or Application form
- A copy of the document you are appealing (e.g. Notice of Proposal, Impound Notice, Suspension Notice, Order or Claim Denial)
- Any documents you have that support your appeal. Refer to the information sheets for guidance.
- A Notice of Motion, if you are filing your appeal past the deadline.
- Payment:
- Your payment receipt from the online payment portal, or
- A certified cheque or money order, if filing by mail or courier
Requirement for Filing Fee
If you are using the online payment portal to file, you must pay the filing fee and submit your payment receipt with your Notice of Appeal or Application. If you are filing by mail or courier, you must include the certified cheque or money order with your Notice of Appeal or Application.
If a filing fee is not included, the Notice of Appeal or Application will be considered incomplete and processing will be delayed.
Ways to file
You can file your Notice of Appeal or Application with the Licence Appeal Tribunal – General Service (LAT-GS) in one of two ways:
- Email your documents to: LATRegistrar@ontario.ca.
- To protect your privacy, LAT-GS cannot accept credit card information by email. If you are filing by email, use the online payment portal to pay your fee.
- In the “Subject” line of your email, include the 7-digit receipt number from your online payment, the word “Appeal” or “Application” and the name of Appellant or Applicant, e.g. Subject: Receipt #1013260, Appeal, John Doe.
- Mail or courier your documents to:

Filing Fees
The filing fee is $106. Filing fees are per licence or registration. If you are filing an appeal or application about more than one licence or registration, ensure you have submitted a $106 payment for each one. The $106.00 fee is non-refundable.

You can pay your filing fees with Visa or MasterCard debit and credit cards or by certified cheque or by money order.
- To pay with a credit card you must use the online payment portal and file by email.
- To pay by certified cheque or money order, you must file by mail or courier.

Email your appeal immediately after paying your filing fee. Include your Notice of Appeal or Application together with your payment receipt and the documents listed above in “What to File” to LATRegistrar@ontario.ca.
Mail or courier payment
Mail or courier a certified cheque or money order, payable to the Minister of Finance, along with your completed Notice of Appeal or Application, to the following address:
